Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about product selection, samples and orders, quality and certifications, and technical handling.
Products & Selection
QHow do I choose the right grade for my product?
Tell us four things: hardness (Shore A), operating temperature, molding method (molding, extrusion, etc.) and required certifications or standards, and we will recommend a suitable grade. Drawings or the specification of the material you currently use are also helpful.
QWhat is the difference between HCR, LSR and RTV?
HCR (Heat Cured Rubber) is a high-viscosity solid silicone rubber that is milled and then compression/transfer molded or extruded. LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber) is a two-part liquid used for injection molding, and RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanizing) silicone cures at room temperature for sealing, coating and mold making. Grace Continental Korea mainly supplies HCR compounds.
QShould I choose peroxide cure or platinum (addition) cure?
Peroxide cure is versatile with a wide processing window and is common for general industrial parts. Platinum addition cure leaves no decomposition by-products, so it has less odor and blooming and suits food-contact, medical and consumer products that require transparency and hygiene. Share your application and process conditions and we will suggest the right cure system.
QCan you match a specific color?
Yes. We color-match compounds to your request, and conductive grades are also available as non-black-mark types that leave no black marks on surfaces. Please send a color sample or color code.
QAre there grades that do not require post cure?
Yes. Grades such as the NPC Series achieve stable properties without post cure, saving process time and energy. See the Silicone Rubber (HCR) product page for details.
Samples & Orders
QCan I get a sample?
Yes. Submit an online inquiry below, choose “Sample request” as the type, and include the product name (or required properties), application and quantity. Our team will confirm the conditions and schedule.
QWhat are the minimum order quantity (MOQ) and lead time?
They depend on the product, color and formulation. Send us the product name, quantity and requested delivery date, and we will reply with a quotation.
QCan I buy small quantities for trials?
Small orders for development and trials can be discussed. Let us know your future production plans as well, and we will suggest the best way to supply.
QDo you ship overseas?
Yes. Working with our group headquarters in Hong Kong and our factory in Qingdao, China, we supply customers overseas. Tell us the destination and quantity and we will advise on shipping terms.
Quality & Certifications
QCan I receive a C.O.A (Certificate of Analysis)?
Yes. Every shipment passes outgoing inspection and is issued a C.O.A. See Process & Quality for our inspection steps.
QWhat certifications do you hold?
We hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, UL94 and Hyundai Motor SQ certifications, plus 22 registered patents. See Certifications for details.
QCan you support approvals for automotive and electronic parts?
Based on our IATF 16949 quality management system and Hyundai Motor SQ certification, we provide the documentation needed for automotive part approvals. Tell us which documents you need (property data, hazardous substance data, etc.) and we will get back to you.
QWhat fire-resistance standard do the fire door gasket grades meet?
The TS 1300FS Series for fire door gaskets is a flame-retardant extrusion grade that provides fire resistance of over 1 hour under KS F 2268-1.
Technical & Handling
QHow should silicone rubber be stored?
Keep it sealed in a cool place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Ask our team for the recommended storage period of each product; compounds stored for a long time should be re-milled on a roll mill before use.
QWhich materials can GCASTAT® IC-1 anti-static agent be used in?
It is a liquid ionic anti-static agent that can be used in silicone rubber, urethane rubber, TPU, PMMA, Nylon 6.6 and many other polymers. See Ionic Anti-static Agent for details.
QCan the SWCNT masterbatch be added directly to my existing formulation?
Yes. It is supplied as a pre-dispersed masterbatch that can be added to your existing formulation. The right dosage depends on the conductivity and properties you need, so we recommend a technical consultation. SWCNT Applications
QDo you offer technical support or on-site consultations?
Yes. Our R&D center and sales team can review formulations and processing conditions and help analyze defects. Request support through the online inquiry below or call +82-32-328-0121.
